Melissa Schilling
If her life was a board game, it would be called Culinary Pursuit. Melissa Schilling developed an early passion for food and wine from her Italian grandfather – eating after school snacks of cod and crackers while other children enjoyed cookies and milk. The cod prepared her well for a cooking school stint in the Basque Country of Spain. Earning her Master of Science degree in Agriculture, from Cal Poly, cemented her love of terroir, microclimates, heirloom vegetables and of course CHEESE!
Along the way, she picked up a camera to document her culinary hijinks. These images represent Melissa’s approach to life: finding the memorable, the beauty, the fluidity, the nourishment, the idea of eternal youth in this dance we call life.

Melissa is working on a Culinary Roadtrip Cookbook (sipsnapsavor.com) … She also teaches consumable art classes through her consulting business, Praise Cheeses (praisecheeses.net)
